Well that's one way to get out of a dentist appointment
About an hour before my appointment, TFB came upstairs from the basement and said, "You need to take me to the hospital." Oh lord, what now?

We had taken home some of the broken boards from the Kick for Life and he was breaking them up with an axe over the past few days into more usable pieces. I warned him two days ago, "Do that in the basement. And don't take off a finger in the process with the axe, ok?"
Idiot. Can't remember simple instructions for two days. Today he tried to take off his right index finger at the base joint with the axe. It earned him a total of 13 stitches (5 inside, 8 outside). Luckily he's left handed. I think he shall forevermore be known as TJ - The Jackaninny.
He's doing ok. It's going to smart for quite awhile, but he survived his latest adventure. He was really close to hitting bone but missed the major vessels (though to hear him tell it, he was attacked by a serial killer and he lost gallons of blood). And he hates that I'm so cool in crisis like that. I bandadged him up pretty well at home to stop the bleeding. We got in after about 20 minutes at the ER. I didn't go back with him to get stitched (the kids were with me), so I didn't get to see the work in progress. That would've been cool.
And now we're kicking ourselves because we didn't get pictures at the time...just one after he was stitched up. (Yeah, we're just a wee bit warped. But you knew that about us and love us anyway.)
So tomorrow I get to be nervous about the dental appointment all over again.
(There Alala...is that a better post? Wanna see pictures? LOL!)
Ok, ask and ye shall receive. I'll spare the faint of heart and just link to them. Go hit my Flickr Stupidity Set if you want to see them.
