My mutant children...
It's no secret my children are a bit odd, to say the least. But now Kasia has been told by her pediatrician it appears that her feet, especially her left one, was trying to grow a sixth toe. (She also may have a "short toe" on her right foot, but it's too early to tell for sure.)
I have to say, this does not surprise me. My sister had three ureters and three kidneys (two of which were functioning, but not really well), and six wisdom teeth. It appears she was supposed to have been a twin and at some cellular level one absorbed the other, and then other parts grew somewhat. Weird stuff on my side of the family.
And TJ is adopted, so we don't know much - but he has a short toe on his right foot.
And Bug - well she's just a mutant to her very core. She figures stuff out that's totally illogical (but seems to make perfect sense when she explains it) and her brain works backwards, much like her mother and father's.
So off to the podiatrist we go for Kasia. (She's also got a bunion that the peds thinks she needs evaluated very soon, besides the mutant toe thing going on.)
Yep. Weird kids. The nut doesn't fall far from the tree apparently.

Um, I can pick things up with my toes, but I have the appropriate number. My brain, when it works at all, seems to work in the usual manner. Since I will have no progeny, we will never know what weirdness I might pass on. That's ;eft to my nieces and nephews.
At least they'll always have an answer to 'What's the weirdest thing about you?' and won't have to come up with something lame!
